It’s very difficult for homeless people to find healthcare for their pets. However, there’s one man who’s trying his best to make a change in this world. Dr. Stewart Kwane from California is a self-professed ‘street veterinarian’, and he is dedicating his life in treating the pets of the homeless. Since 2011, the kind doctor has been going on this mission in treating the animals. Moreover, he is also paying from his pocket for basic food and veterinary costs if needed for these pets.
Dr. Kwane often carries his medical bag when doing his rounds, so that he can help any animal who may perhaps be in need. As these escapades of the good doctor started becoming expensive, he began a GoFundMe page to raise donations for his mission. Dr. Kwane says that, “The cost of minor treatments like ear infections, flea treatment, or vaccines can be around $100, whereas more serious cases of pet care like a tumor removal or dental with extractions can be $1,500.”
As saving these innocent souls can be very costly, we come across the story of the pup named Dinker. Although the good doctor is trying his best, the pup needs surgery which is extremely expensive. Dr. Stewart had this to say: “Dinker has a very rare condition that requires surgery from a specialist. I’ve experienced the most genuine stories of love, compassion, struggle, and hope.”
