Seashell is a tortoise, but not like the regular one we used to see.
He is 15 years old by now and he lived with Mayda Garcia and her family in Texas. Within the past 15 years they provided plenty of love and treats for him. Also, he had a spacious backyard to call his own.
His cozy domestic life was gone so well until one day he realized that he needs more adventures.
His thought of going for adventures was not just a thought for a tortoise. There were no one to stop him from seeking it out.
Over the years, whenever he gets the opportunity, he managed to escape from the backyard.
One day, in 2021, he even managed to break a wooden gate to explore the world beyond. Fortunately, Seashell didn’t get too far from his home. A neighbor spotted him and reported it to the police. The police then picked the explorer and safely returned him home.
However, it wouldn’t be Seashell’s last tour with the cops.
Recently, Deputy Joe Garza of the Bexar County Sheriff’s Office was on patrol when he spotted a tortoise wandering down the street nearby. Garza knew just who to contact.
He reported this to his supervisor, who was the same Sergeant found a tortoise roaming in the area over a year ago.
Sergeant knew who that would be! Non other than the escape artist-Seashell! And sure enough, he was right!
The incredible tortoise had racked up quite the criminal record for a reptile. But whenever he was back in the police car, he showed a little regret. May be because of he couldn’t complete his adventure!
Thanks to his prior experience, the authorities knew where he lives. Then he was safely returned to his home like they did before. Garcia and her family were finally relieved that they could find him safe again, thanks to the policeman.
For his part in the arrest, Deputy Garza was awarded a new title -Official Tortoise Wrangler- and a certificate too.
