This adorable dog named Baby was dropped off at Griffin Pond Animal Shelter. It was clear that the poor dog was confused when it happened. The year-old pup was found wandering the streets of Northern Pennsylvania. She was confused because of the new environment which is surrounded by strange people and she didn’t like it.
She longed to find a safer place or go back home. That’s when P.J. Regan the shelter’s medical manager snapped a picture of her.
Ashley Wolo, the executive director of the shelter says that it was a heartbreaking moment when she looked and waited at the door for her owner to come through. She was definitely nervous about the new environment and the new surroundings.
At the shelter, Baby was vetted, dewormed, and treated for fleas and ticks infections. And when she was feeling better the stress of the kennel was causing her to shut down emotionally.
In the kennel area, there are so many other dogs and there is a lot of barking. It was pretty louder and it was really stressful. They noticed that when she was outside in the play area, she was a whole different dog. She loved to play outside and run around. They got to see a different side of her and it was how the dogs act normally.
Shelter workers reached out to the Pregnant Dog Rescue to see if they had enough space for Baby. She got along with other dogs so well that they agreed to take her on the spot. But it didn’t last long.
After a few short days, Baby was adopted along with another dog from the same rescue. Her new family was ready to welcome her.
She has been a perfect pup from the day they brought her home. Her adopters are very happy to have her as their family member. They mentioned that she acts like she is been there with them the whole time. She sleeps on her human’s feet when they working at home. She is a sweet dog now.
Baby has completely transformed into a new dog with her family members. Now she is fully happy and the only time she stares longingly out a window is when she is waiting for her family to come back home with a special treat for her!
