Remi had a rough beginning, as this 1-year-ol Belgian Malinois who was left with her siblings and mom in a field, needed a lot of tender loving care and a little luck. Within days, the Labelle Foundation took it upon them to save the pups, and within weeks, Remi found her forever home with a Hollywood star.

Remi’s dad was none other than Taylor Lautner, and in an interview, the Hollywood star had this to say: “There were eight pups and their mom, who gave birth in a field, and they were rescued about two weeks later. An amazing foster took in the mom and all eight puppies even though she had a dog herself. We got [Remi] as soon as we could, at 10 weeks.”

Lautner and fiancée Taylor Dome already had another dog named Lily, and it was she who had suggested that they adopt another dog. Lautner goes on to say: “It was a no-brainer for me. Tay sent photos of [Remi] and her story about being abandoned and I knew I had to get her right now. It’s been the best year of our lives — she’s a dream dog.”

Remi completed Taylor’s family, and her love fueled the actor to advocate for shelter pups in finding their forever homes. The actor also became a part of the 2022 Hill’s Clear The Shelters campaign in order to encourage pet owners to go for adoptions. Lautner also had this to say: “There are so many amazing foundations and shelters out there. I encourage people, if you’re ready to take that next step to be a pet parent, go to a local shelter and adopt.”

Although both Remi and Lily are both “Team Jacob,” Remi is the one who gave Taylor a new appreciation for life. Finally, the Hollywood actor had this to say: “I wish I could live life more like Remi does. You see how thankful [shelter pets] are, how loving they are. It’s an extra-special bond. I want to do that for other people like Remi does for me.”
