Sophia Coleman is currently married to Josh, and on their first date, the first thing she saw was Rocky, and she instantaneously fell in love with the tiny senior rescue pup. She also went on to fall in love with Josh. Throughout the entirety of their relationship, Rocky had been with them, and when the pair started planning their wedding, they wanted the pup to be playing a major role in their wedding party.
In an interview, Coleman had this to say: “We’ve had ups and downs in our relationship, and Rocky has always been there to remind us what true love is, so there was no question that he had to be a part of the wedding.” Finally, the couple decided that Rock would be their ring bearer, and “Best Pup.” They also found him an amazing suit to wear, and with his suit and permanent “blep” due to some missing teeth, he was perfect for the role. There’s nothing more cuter than a dog with a suit with a purple tie, and his tongue sticking out.
So on the big day, the plan was that as the ring bearer, Rocky would be walking down the aisle, with the gaze of all the wedding guests. Although Rocky can sometimes be a grumpy old man, he adores people, so the couple figured that it wouldn’t be much of a problem. In her interview, Coleman also had this to say: “He is quite the spunky little guy despite being 13 years old,” and for the most part, Rocky took his assignments extremely seriously on the big day. She goes on to add: “It took a lot of coaxing and treats to get him to walk down the aisle in front of 80 people. He did great at the rehearsal when there were no guests in attendance, but during the actual ceremony, he was a little distracted by the guests! I think he was hoping each person would give him treats.”
When Rocky finally made it down the aisle, throughout the whole ceremony, he stood by their side, and was only making some minor distractions. What the guests love seeing other than the couple getting married, was Rocky being the perfect gentleman, and Best Pup.
The bride also adds: “Everyone loved seeing him in his cute little suit. When he was coming down the aisle, there was a lot of joyful laughter. He really was the star of the show!” With the ceremony, Rocky’s responsibilities were also over, and Sophia and Josh sent the senior pup to the bridal suite to get some rest. Although Rocky wasn’t happy or super excited in being sent to the room, he somehow found a way to appear at the reception as well.
Finally, Coleman had this to say regarding the elderly pup’s genius: “He was still in the same building as the reception, but we thought it was best if he got some rest, plus we didn’t want anyone to trip over him. At one point, he did burst through the baby gate and made an escape when someone opened the bridal suite door.
He immediately found my husband and I — he wanted to be by our sides the whole night!” whatever said and done, Rocky finally played his roles in the way that he wanted to, and Josh and his bride Sophia didn’t want it any other way.
