Orangutans Make a Beautiful Friendship at the Zoo with the Otters While No One Is Around.

Here’s an unusual and adorable new friendship formed at the Pairi Daiza Zoo. No one can separate this friendship.

In the animal world, there are many friendships between species, which are always cute and adorable. However, this unusual friendship between a family of orangutans and some otters has captured the hearts and love through the internet.

Workers at the Pairi Daiza Zoo had put the otters in a river that was in the orangutans’ habitat. CNN reports that shortly after this, the otters and orangutans were seen together. Since then, the most magical bond between the two species was created and has flourished.

There’s no need to say anything, as these pictures speak a thousand words. This uncanny friendship has to lead the orangutans to play hide and seek in their habitat with the otters.

In an interview, one of the zookeepers, Mathieu, states that “Otters hide under big tree trunks or wooden buildings, then Berani, the baby orangutan, comes looking for them. Now and then they come out to make fun of him. It’s really amazing to see.”

As Pairi Daiza invests a lot on improving the animal enclosures, Mathieu continues, “This means that not only size but also the quality of life is significant. One of the ways to do this (aside from hiding food, doing puzzles, organizing brain games, putting some new swings or records there) is by placing animal species that can interact with each other in the same enclosure, or have them see each other.

To conclude the interview, he states that “Our gorillas live together with colobus monkeys, our penguins live with seals, our kangaroos share an enclosure with pelicans, we have squirrels that live with bats, pygmy hippos with pelicans, giraffes with ostriches, Asian elephants with Asiatic gazelles, zebras with buffalo, and so on.”
