Not every hero wears a cape. This is the story of a brave young boy who was hailed a hero after he incredibly saved a poor creature’s life. The boy named Belal, who is in his early teens, put his own life at risk to save a fawn from drowning. During rainy season, floods are a common sight in Bangladesh, being extremely dangerous for humans and wildlife alike.
After a torrential rain leading to fast rising flooding of a river in Noakhali, Bangladesh, a tiny fawn got separated from its family. The little one was very lucky as the young boy spotted it being washed along with the current, and the boy, without thinking twice jumped in and tried to save the fawn.
However, in the end both boy and fawn safely made it to the banks. A photographer who witnessed this amazing rescue captured it on his camera, and the images he captured speak volumes. Hasibul Wahab, the photographer, and everyone who saw what happened were astounded seeing the boy risking his life, and they even feared for the boy’s life at one point.
In an interview, Wahab had this to say: “He was such a brave boy – the river was so full of water and it was high tide so we thought he might drown.
My friend was even ready to jump into the river to save the boy. But he made it, and when he returned, we thanked the boy. There were only five to seven people observe this situation but it was a phenomenal sight.”
