Sydney Sweeney revealed she almost got a breast reduction at 18, but her mom strongly advised her against it.

Sydney Sweeney recently opened up about her long journey with body image and self-confidence, revealing that she once struggled deeply with insecurities about her appearance while growing up.

In an interview with Glamour UK, the actress shared that she often felt uncomfortable because of her chest size during her teenage years and even considered undergoing breast reduction surgery once she became an adult.

Reflecting on those years, Sweeney explained that she used to believe making herself smaller would help her feel more comfortable and accepted. However, her mother, Lisa Sweeney, encouraged her not to rush into the decision and warned that she might regret it later in life.

According to Sweeney, her mother told her, “Don’t do it. You’ll regret it in college,” advice that ultimately changed her perspective. Looking back now, the actress says she is grateful she listened.

Today, Sweeney speaks much more confidently about embracing her appearance and learning to appreciate her body rather than hide it. She emphasized that everyone’s body is beautiful and that true confidence comes from feeling happy and comfortable within yourself.

The actress has also spoken openly about the misconceptions people have about her, including assumptions tied to her appearance. In another interview with Us Weekly, she explained that developing early physically made her feel insecure throughout much of her youth. She revealed that by sixth grade she was already wearing a 32DD bra size, something that made her feel self-conscious and caused her to avoid clothing that drew attention to her body.

Sweeney shared that it wasn’t until playing Cassie in the HBO series Euphoria that she began to view confidence differently. Through the role, she started realizing that embracing herself could be empowering rather than something to fear or hide from.

She now encourages others to appreciate their bodies and recognize the importance of self-acceptance, saying that people should feel proud of who they are and comfortable in their own skin.
