A good dog.
At least, that’s how one pet-friendly priest in Brazil responded when an unexpected guest with a wagging tail stole the show at a recent church session.
Father José Geraldo Sobreira was officiating mass at the Nossa Senhora das Dores parish earlier this month when an unidentified dog strolled up.
The puppy was obviously thinking about playing.

But instead of removing the hairy new parishioner, the priest took precisely the opposite action. Despite the lovely little distraction at his feet, Sobreira smiled and accepted the dog’s presence while continuing the ceremony.
Even though it’s not apparent how the dog got there, some online users have regarded the visit as heavenly.
Sobreira has received a lot of appreciation ever since for how he handled the “angel with four paws.”
