That day, the Veterinarian Ogun Ozturk was in a small village in Turkey to attend to a client’s cow. At that time he hadn’t planned on staying long. But he will not forget soon something he experienced there.
After wrapping up the job he had come for, Ogun was about to leave the village. Before he did, there was something in the distance. Trudging towards him on a path thick with snow was a little girl. She was not alone! On her back was a pup.
Evidently, around the town, they knew that the vet was there. That presented an opportunity that the girl 8-year-old Cemre Su Turkoz, refused to pass up. Her dog named Pamuk had fallen sick. Desperate to get him help, she decided to carry him more than a mile from her home to the spot she had heard that Ogun would be.
He was surprised when he first saw them. She had wrapped her dog up and brought it to him on her back. Ogun couldn’t turn Cemre Pamuk away. While the little girl looked on, concerned Ogun performed a checkup. Fortunately, his sickness wasn’t all too serious. He had some minor skin issues that were making him uncomfortable, but which could easily be treated. When Cemre heard that her dog would be fine, she was happy. He applied external parasite medications to Pamuk. He is now enjoying himself again. She got his help with the dog, also she got a friend. Ogun has been back to the village to check in on Cemre and Pamuk. He was very happy about this 8 years-old girl behaving with such a loving heart.
Ogun didn’t charge Cemre for his service on that day. Just seeing her love was enough for him as the payment. It was good hope for humanity! Cemre showed us that the only truth in this world is love.
