Teen Jumps Into River — What He Did Next Saved Four Lives

What began as an ordinary summer day along a Mississippi river suddenly turned into chaos — and one teenager’s split-second choice changed everything. A car was sinking, three girls were screaming, and the current showed no mercy.

Help wasn’t arriving fast enough. Without hesitation, a 16-year-old boy kicked off his shoes, pulled off his shirt, and dove straight into the dark water.

When the car plunged into the Pascagoula River, three teenage girls were left clinging to the roof as the rising water and strong current threatened to pull them under. From the shore, Corion Evans saw the danger unfolding and moved before fear had a chance to stop him.

Fighting against the current, he reached the girls and guided them back to safety one by one. Exhausted but unwilling to quit, he then noticed a police officer who had entered the water to help was now struggling to stay afloat.

Corion turned around and went back into the river — this time to save the rescuer.

Because of his courage, four lives were pulled from the water that night. Later honored by his city, the teenager became a powerful reminder that true heroism doesn’t depend on age. Sometimes it appears in the most frightening moments, carried out by someone brave enough to act when no one else can.
