Donald Trump, who has often argued he is worthy of a Nobel Peace Prize, has now received a newly created honor from FIFA.
The former President issued a grateful statement after being presented with the inaugural FIFA Peace Prize at a ceremony.
Earlier this year, Trump repeatedly claimed he deserved the Nobel Peace Prize—a sentiment echoed by many of his supporters. Ultimately, however, the award went to María Corina Machado.
Now, Trump has received a peace-related award of his own: the newly established FIFA Peace Prize, presented during the World Cup Draw. The 2026 tournament will be co-hosted by the United States, Mexico, and Canada.
Attending the event with the First Lady, Trump described the honor as “one of the great honors of my life.”
According to FIFA, the prize aims to “recognize individuals who have taken exceptional and extraordinary actions for peace and, in doing so, have united people across the world.”
The ceremony, held at the Kennedy Center in Washington, D.C., featured FIFA President Gianni Infantino presenting Trump with a gold medal, which he immediately put on as he stood beside his trophy.

Trump has frequently asserted that his leadership helped prevent or end several global conflicts. He once told Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, “They will never give me a Nobel Peace Prize. I deserve it, but they will never give it to me.”
In August, at a summit with Ukrainian and European leaders, Trump again argued he merited the accolade.
“I’ve done six wars; I’ve ended six wars,” he said. “If you look at the six deals I settled this year, they were all at war. I didn’t do any ceasefires.”
More recently, Trump renamed the Institute of Peace to the Donald J. Trump United States Institute of Peace, underscoring his belief that he is the “president of peace.”
