She has been married to cinematographer Daniel Moder for 19 years, and their enduring bond is still clear to anyone who sees them together. The couple share three children: 16-year-old twins Hazel and Phinnaeus, and their 14-year-old son, Henry.
Roberts and Moder have always made a conscious effort to keep their children out of the public eye. Because of this, it’s rare to see the kids at major events—or even on social media.
That’s why fans were pleasantly surprised in July 2021 when Hazel made a radiant appearance alongside her father at the Cannes Film Festival in France. They attended the premiere of “Flag Day,” a film directed by Sean Penn, for which Moder worked behind the scenes. Although Penn’s own children appeared in the film, Hazel was not part of the cast; she was simply there to show support for her father’s work.
Hazel’s appearance quickly captured attention. Some say she resembles her famous mother, but many believe she looks strikingly similar to her handsome father. With her blue eyes and blonde hair, it’s easy to see why she drew so much admiration.

Whether Hazel or her brothers have any desire to pursue careers in film remains unknown. Their parents rarely discuss them publicly and have always prioritized their children’s privacy—a testament to Roberts’ humility. Despite her staggering net worth of roughly $250 million, she has always remained refreshingly down-to-earth.
Hazel and her brothers did make small on-screen appearances in Roberts’ 2016 film “Mother’s Day.”
In a 2018 interview with Harper’s Bazaar, Roberts reflected on her children’s awareness of her fame:
“I don’t think they will ever have a true sense of it. When they were starting to figure it out, they said, ‘You’re famous?’ And I told them, ‘I think a lot of people might have seen the movie I’m in or might know who I am.’”
She also spoke about the challenges of raising kids in the modern world:
“It’s different than when I told my mom, ‘You don’t know what it’s like to be a teenager today,’ even though she probably did. Danny and I really don’t know what it’s like to be a teenager today. Sometimes my kids ask me things and I just say, ‘I’m going to say no, and then I’m going to look into it because I don’t even know what we’re talking about.’”
There’s no doubt that Roberts and Moder form a strong, loving partnership—and their thoughtful approach to parenting only adds to the admiration they receive.
