White House Responds After Donald Trump Is Rushed to the Hospital

White House Issues Statement After President Trump Taken to Hospital

The White House has released an official statement following confirmation that President Donald Trump was taken to the hospital on Friday morning, October 10, amid renewed concerns about his health.

Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt announced that the 79-year-old President was transported to Walter Reed National Military Medical Center, where he is expected to meet with U.S. troops and undergo what the administration described as a “routine yearly checkup.”

However, questions have been raised about the timing of the visit, as Trump reportedly underwent his annual physical just six months ago.

Speculation about the President’s health first intensified in July, when photographs appeared to show bruising on his hands and swelling around his ankles.

In her statement, Leavitt said:

“On Friday morning, President Trump will visit Walter Reed Medical Center for a planned meeting and remarks with the troops. While there, he will stop by for his routine yearly checkup. He will then return to the White House. President Trump is considering traveling to the Middle East shortly thereafter.”

According to the BBC, the President was diagnosed over the summer with chronic venous insufficiency — a circulatory condition that affects blood flow in the leg veins. Medical experts describe the disorder as benign and common among people over 70. It occurs when veins fail to pump blood efficiently back to the heart, often resulting in swelling in the lower legs.

Earlier this year, false rumors about the President’s death circulated online after he was not seen in public for several days. When asked about the speculation, Trump dismissed it, saying, “I didn’t hear that one. That’s pretty serious stuff.”

He also took to social media at the time, writing, “NEVER FELT BETTER IN MY LIFE,” and later told reporters aboard Air Force One, “Good heart. A good soul. Very good soul. I wanted to be a little different than Biden. I took a cognitive test — I don’t know what to tell you other than I got every answer right.”
