Blue java bananas which taste just like vanilla ice cream

The blue Java, this popular variety of bananas,  is very special. It is becoming more and more popular, as it is very similar to vanilla ice cream in flavor. The name, Blue Java, comes from the unique blue aquamarine peel, but when you open it, the real taste is inside. The color of the inside part is yellow-white, but it tastes really delicious.

Although Blue Java is perhaps the most popular name for this fruit, it is also known by other names. This banana is called as frozen bananas in Hawaii, Cenizo in Central America and Hawaiian bananas in Fiji.

Blue Java is native to Southeast Asia. But it is now found in other continents too, including northern Australia. As a general rule, bananas do not grow well in colder regions because they are a tropical fruit. The most popular varieties of bananas will not grow if the average temperature is below 40 degrees Fahrenheit and they will die when the temperature decreases to 28F. It is possible to grow blue Java banana at temperatures as low as 20F.

Do you want to grow Java blue banana?

You can grow this new banana in your own garden if the climate is just right. In the United States, you can develop Blue Java in zones 9 through 11 of the USDA, but some areas in zone 8 are doing well. The zone map divides the United States into 11 zones, each zone being 10 F warmer or colder than the neighboring zone. It helps farmers to choose the right plants to grow in their area.

Once the blue Java tree reaches its maximum size, it will reach up to 20 feet in height. If you plant a pseudostem, the leaves take approximately 9 months to appear.

The cultivation of bananas does not require much effort, but here are some tips to start.

Bananas grow in moist conditions. There should be a warm rich soil and it should be well watered. These banana plants must be watered frequently and properly during the growing season, but don’t water too much. Also, consider the depth of the soil to prevent root rot. Use an NPK fertilizer that contains nutrients in a ratio of 3: 1: 6 for the plant. Use the fertilizer when there is warm weather. It is good to spray the fertilizer around the root area to get it down to the soil. For every 2 feet of plant growth add one cup of fertilizer. Bananas need sunlight other than many trees. So make sure they are grown in an area with full or partial sunlight.

Uses of Java Blue

The large, sturdy leaves of the Blue Java tree could be used as parchment paper or another type of cooking packaging. They can also be used for boiling, steaming, baking, roasting or drying food. But remember, the porous nature of the leaves is not good for juices since they can leak through. Placing food packed with these leaves in a pan will reduce the damage.

Many people simply appreciate the taste of vanilla ice cream when eating it instead of ice cream. Bananas contain a lot of energy and are low in fat. 100 grams of banana contains approximately 0.3 grams of fat, 22.8 grams of carbohydrates and 89 calories.

Bananas are a rich source of potassium, a mineral that promotes the response of nerve cells and proper muscle contraction. Having enough potassium in your diet helps lower blood pressure and is important for an adequate cardiac contraction.

You can easily replace ordinary bananas with blue java in all recipes. They make delicious smoothies, banana pancakes, banana cookies and, of course, banana ice cream.
